Programming Instructions

Filter Cycle Start and Duration
The filter cycle will have the system run every day for filtering purposes even if the user is not using the spa. The filter cycle begins with a one minute purge cycle of the blower; then, pump 1 will be activated (in low speed for a two-speed pump) for an amount of time programmed by the user. The ozone output is also activated during the filter cycle.
To program a filter cycle, the user must enter two parameters; the start time of the cycle and the duration of the cycle. If no filtering is required, the user sets the duration to zero. The filtering cycle will occur twice a day, every 12 hours. If continuous filtering is required, the filter cycle duration must then be set to 12 (hours)

Filter Cycle Symbol
When a filter cycle is in process, the Filter symbol appears in the LCD window.

Programming Overview
All programming is done using the Program Mode key. Pressing and holding this key for 5 seconds enters the programming mode, Time of Day. Pressing this key in succession enters in to a logical progression of programming modes listed below. For a summary of the sequence, see the chart below.
1st - (After 5 seconds) Enters Time of Day Programming
2nd - Enters Filtration Start Time Programming
3rd - Enters Filtration Cycle Duration Programming
4th - Enters Display of ºF or ºC Programming
5th - Enters Panel Lock Out Programming

Time Of Day
The first Program Mode to appear will be the Time of Day.
1. Pushing the Program Key once will cause 12:00 PM to appear (unless the time has been previously set, then the current programmed time of day will appear).
2. Use the Up/Down arrows to set the internal clock to your local time.
3. Press the Program Mode key again to enter filter start time (below).

Filtration Cycle Start Time
1. Start the programming mode by pressing the Program Mode key until FS appears in the LCD window.
2. Use the Up/Down arrows to choose the filtration cycle start time (0=12:00, 1=1:00, etc.). The system will start the filtration cycle at this time. Once in the AM and again in the PM.
3. Press the Program Mode key to enter duration (below).

Filtration Duration
1. Start the programming mode by pressing the Program Mode key until the LCD window displays Fd.
2. Use the Up/Down arrows to choose the filtration cycle duration, you may choose 0-12 hours as the duration. It is recommended to filter at least 4-6 hours per day to maintain clean, clear water.
3. Press the Program Mode key again to change between ºF or ºC (below).

Temperature Display in ºF or ºC
1. Start the programming mode by pressing the Program Mode key until the LCD window displays either TuC or TuF.
2. Use the Up/Down arrows to alternate between the two.
3. Press the Program Mode key again to enter Keypad/Panel Lock Mode.

Keypad / Panel Lock
1. Start the programming mode by pressing the Program Mode key until the LCD window displays either Loc0 or Loc1.
2. Use the Up/Down arrows to alternate between the two.
3. Press the Program Mode key again to finish programming.
Loc0 = Unlocked Loc1 = Locked

Economy / Normal Mode Key
This key is used to switch from the Normal Mode to either Economy 1 or Economy 2 Mode.

Economy Mode Symbol
The Economy Mode symbol appearing in the LCD window indicates to the user the economy mode is on.

Normal Mode
The system will automatically maintain the water temperature at the desired programmed temperature. If no temperature has been programmed, the system will default to 95ºF. This mode is recommended for users that desire their spa to be available for use 24 hours a day.

Economy Mode
The system will maintain the water temperature at a point 20ºF BELOW the programmed temperature. If the programmed temperature is 104ºF, the system will maintain 84ºF until manually removed from this mode. This mode is recommended for occasional use operation when a minimal heat-up time is required.

Economy Mode 2
The system will maintain the water temperature at a point 20ºF BELOW the programmed temperature. If the programmed temperature is 104ºF, the system will maintain 84ºF until 4:00 PM. At that time the system will automatically change to the Normal Mode and allow the spa temperature to attain the programmed water temperature. This mode will remain in effect until 9:00 PM and will then revert back to the economy mode until the next day, which will then be repeated. This mode is considered to be the daily use mode.

For extended periods of non-use it is recommended to lower the program temperature to a temperature between 62ºF and 72ºF and place the system in either Normal or Economy Mode 1. All filtration and freeze protection circuits will remain in effect but there will be little or no heat added to the spa water.

NOTE: When in Programming Mode, if no keys are pressed during 15 seconds, the control will return to the normal mode.

Alarms

Freeze Protection
If the temperature of the water falls below 50ºF, the system will start a special program to circulate the water in the plumbing. Pump 1 (in high speed), Pump 2 (in high speed), and the heater will be turned on for two minutes or until 50ºF is achieved. The message FrEE will be displayed throughout the special cycle. During this cycle all other functions of the unit (except the alarms) are disabled.

High Temperature Protection
If the water temperature exceeds 115ºF, the heater will be turned off and the High-Limit temperature protection circuit will display HL in the LCD window. After the water temperature has cooled down to 110ºF the system will automatically reset the heater. If for some reason, the water temperature continues to rise to 122ºF, the entire system will become disabled with the exception of a limited freeze protection mode. Once the water has cooled below 115ºF pressing any key will allow the system to reset. If this condition persists refer to the advanced trouble shooting guide available from your spa retailer or contact a service technician to correct the problem.

Pressure Switch
To assure proper heater operation, a water pressure switch has been installed to monitor the system. If either alarm codes FLC or FLO are visible in the LCD window, this indicates the need for system service. Refer to the advanced trouble shooting guide available from your spa retailer or contact a service technician to correct the problem.

Temperature Sensors
To assure proper spa temperature maintenance, temperature probes are incorporated into the system. If either of the alarm codes PrH or Prr are visible in the LCD window, this indicates the need for system service. Refer to the advanced trouble shooting guide available from your spa retailer or contact a service technician to correct the problem.
